Commander Pierce ★★★
Summary
Hawkeye gets put in charge and becomes authoritarian. No one likes it.
Thoughts
BJ and Hawkeye are fighttting!!! Hawkeye is pretty out of character in this episode, and so are most of the others to compensate, Radar in particular. Potter is wonderful. It almost feels like he put Pierce in charge as a team building exercise. Someone made the point that Potter should have just put Margaret in charge, which is correct actually. Anyways. I dislike episodes where the moral is "Hawkeye would do exactly the same as the people he hates if he ewre in their position." While that moral can point towards an overall corrupt system pushing otherwise moral people into immoral actions, I think that point would have been made more relevantly if Hawkeye tried more actively to do moral things in that position. What if we saw him pull some Dr. Pierce and Mr. Hyde and do way more work than he should? When BJ runs off without permission, what if we were shown that Hawkeye really should have put his foot down, and the only thing stopping him was him wanting to retain his stance on higher ups in the military? Anyways. Okay episode.

Summary
Hawkeye issues a complaint with the politicians conducting peace talks. The 4077th do their best to support him.
Thoughts
Red! BJ and Hawkeye are so so so so so married. What the fuck. Real good piece of fanfiction pointing out the volume of drive behind BJs actions in this episode. Hawkeye off hand mentions that he would like to see red. Then goes AWOL. And by the time he gets back, BJ has convinced every single person in camp to dye their hair and clothes red. It's great. What the fuck. Good episode. Time loop theory.
Lil ★★★★
Summary
A visiting colonel and head nurse is doted upon by everybody but Radar.
Thoughts
Oh lil. :) Very sweet episode, for both Margaret and Potter. One of the few times a visiting female character in a position of power is well-rounded, likeable, and memorable. Lil means everything to me. Also Hawkeye and BJ are there somehow? But I have very little memory of them in this episode.
Our Finest Hour Pt. 1 ★★

We review some old clips of MASH through the lens of an interview.
Thoughts
It's fine! No real problems with it. In fact, very nice that Margaret gets to be interviewed. Just that I've seen this show a lot, I don't necessarily want to sit down for a clip show.
Our Finest Hour Pt. 2 ★★

More clips of MASH as an interview.
Thoughts
It is interesting the editing of the clips. They wanted to show a clip from Movie tonight, but didn't want to show plot specific moments, so when they're all singing Dear Ma I want to go home, they only show the surgeons' verse, potters' verse, and Radar's verse. They cut the nurses, Margaret, Klinger, and Frank, so the whole song is weird and short. Anyways. Funny!
The Billfold Syndrome ★★★
Summary
Sidney Freedman arrives to help a soldier with amnesia. Charles takes a vow of silence, which Hawkeye and BJ try to break.
Thoughts
Sidney episode! Not my favorite of his, but he's here! He's here! Terrible terrible time for the soldier, but Sidney's here! Yay! Hawkeye and BJ are just straight up evil and mean in this episode. Poor Winchester.
None Like it Hot ★★★
Summary
The 4077th fight over a bathtub on the hottest day of the summer.
Thoughts
Radar! Summary says it all. It's a sweet episode. Another goood choice for watching just for fun and having a good time and not necessarily contending directly with the horrors of war. Anyway.
